One of the series I have been working on in 2014, Water, is finally completed and submitted to Fotofestival Naarden 2015. As some of you may know, I think in the end I will shoot a solid blue photograph. But that will only mean something when the road to arrive there has been completely and consciously traveled. My Water series enabled me to travel a small part of that road and that makes me happy.
For the second half of the year big prints of water-bodies or appearances of water have been hanging in my house (duct-taped to the wall). I am not easily satisfied with a photograph, but I try to give them room to speak for themselves in this manner. Some photographs grow on you, and some prove to be unsatisfactory after some time (or even at some other size than your screen’s). These are the five images that together and finally constitute my series Water (2014).
